This package explores the barriers to learning and employment faced by people with additional learning support needs and offers guidance on providing an effective, inclusive service.
The ‘Basic Skills’ and ‘Additional Learning Needs’ toolkits are two new interactive etraining packages. Developed for RISE, the UK's largest Learning Network, by the University of Wales, Newport’s, Institute of Digital Learning in collaboration with many expert contributors, including NIACE Dysgu Cymru and PATOSS (the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties).
The awareness raising toolkits are designed to encourage a greater understanding of the diversity of Basic Skills and Additional Learning Skills support needs in educational and employment contexts. The resources seek to provide service sector based frontline workers with tailored training designed to enhance the inclusive service approaches they offer to clients and colleagues.
